A shared tablet usually means a shared login, and a shared login means every order looks as though the bar took it. Bario keeps several accounts signed in on one device at once and switches between them with a 4-digit PIN. The switch takes seconds, nobody types a password on a screen a guest can see, and every order, payment and shift still belongs to a named person. PINs are hashed before they are stored and live only on the device they were set on, so a tablet left at the venue never carries a password for anyone.

Why not just share one login?
Because then every order, every payment and every shift belongs to the same account, and reports can no longer tell you who sold what, whose cash is short, or who voided the order. The PIN switch keeps a shared device without losing the person behind each action.
How long does switching take?
Four taps. The account is already signed in on the device, so the PIN unlocks it rather than logging in again.
Where is the PIN stored?
On the device, as a SHA-256 hash, never in plain text and never on our servers. A PIN set on the bar tablet does not exist on a phone that was never used to set it.
What if somebody forgets their PIN?
They sign in once with their normal email and password on that device and set a new one. Nothing else about the account changes.
Can I take an account off a device that is leaving the venue?
Yes. Accounts are removed from the switcher one at a time, and a manager can also deactivate the employee entirely, which ends their access everywhere.
