Bario's booking book is a day at a time. Above the list is a day plan: one row per table, one block per booking, and a red line at the current time, so a whole evening reads at a glance instead of as twelve rows of text. Taking a booking is a guest name, a party size, a date and one tap on a half-hour slot; pick the zone first and the table list narrows to it, with a count of how many are still free at that time. Slots already taken on the chosen table are crossed out before you can pick them, and the database itself refuses to hold one table for two bookings at once, so a double booking is not a mistake staff can make. A booking taken before anyone has decided where to put the party needs no table at all, and sits at the top of the day plan until it gets one.

Table Reservations common questions
How do I switch reservations on?
A manager turns them on in Settings → General. They are off until then, and the Reservations item only appears in the sidebar once they are on, so a venue that does not take bookings never sees the screen.
Can the same table be booked twice by mistake?
No. Two bookings cannot hold the same table at overlapping times, and that is enforced in the database rather than by a warning in the form, so it holds even when two staff book on two tablets at the same moment. Back-to-back is fine: a booking ending at 21:00 and one starting at 21:00 do not clash.
Can I take a booking before I know which table to give them?
Yes. Leave the table unset and the booking is taken normally. It holds nothing, so it can never clash with anything, and it sits in the first row of the day plan until someone assigns it a table.
Can guests book a table themselves online?
Not today. Reservations are entered by your staff, from a phone call, a message or someone walking in. The QR menu is a separate feature and lets guests order once they are seated, not book ahead.
What happens to a booking that runs past midnight?
It stays on the night it started. A 23:30 sitting appears on that evening rather than disappearing at 00:00, because that is the shift the staff who took it are working.
Does a reserved table show up on the floor plan?
Yes, in yellow, but only while the booking's time is actually running rather than all day. An order beats a booking: a table with guests already sitting at it shows as occupied, so nobody is sent to seat a party on top of one that is eating.
Who is allowed to change a booking?
Anyone in the venue can read the book, because a waiter needs to know who is coming to the section they are working. Adding, editing, seating or deleting a booking is limited to admins, managers and any custom role you give the Manage reservations permission to.
